Tumor removal in the third month of pregnancy

My name is Shorouq, and I want to share with you my happiness for consulting the best and always distinguished doctor, Dr. Ahmed Marzouk, a consultant gynecologist and obstetrician, who saved my daughter in my womb from a huge tumor. Here are the details of my story.

A cruelly growing tumor:
On the first day of pregnancy, I suddenly had an intrauterine tumor, and it was feeding on the pregnancy hormone!

The tumor grew larger daily during my pregnancy, and the risk to my life and the foetus increased until the tumor's growth rate reached approximately 1.5 cm per week and occasionally exceeded 4 cm per week.

I consulted three doctors, and they all agreed on one end of my case, which was the death of the foetus. I had one of two options. The first option was to terminate the pregnancy to remove the unknown tumor, which could be benign or malignant. The other option was to leave the condition until fetal death due to the pressure of the tumor on it, then perform surgery to clean and remove the tumor. Both paths lead to the same end, which is the loss of my foetus.

Of course, I experienced indescribable physical and psychological pain and misery that accompanied me every hour. My fear increased when I learned that the tumor was pressing on the foetus and that the tumor was located inside the uterus and extended outside as well. My husband and I were shocked and didn't know what to choose from these two options.

Dr. Ahmed Marzouk was my last hope:
In the third month of pregnancy, the tumor was 13.5 cm without any signs of stability or a decrease in the growth rate. Every day, it was approaching several millimeters more toward the head of the foetus, which almost put our lives at risk.

One of my friends told me about the excellence of Dr. Ahmed Marzouk and said that he is the only doctor in Egypt and the Middle East who has performed surgery similar to my case before. Once I heard this information, Dr. Ahmed Marzouk became my last hope to complete this pregnancy. I decided to communicate with him and implement his decision, whether his decision agreed with the previous doctors or not.

I contacted the clinic to book a consultation appointment, during which Dr. Ahmed Marzouk recorded all my medical history and reported all examinations and x-rays. Then Dr. Ahmed Marzouk decided to perform surgery. Immediately, we started processing the required pre-surgical examinations. The surgery was scheduled as soon as possible, due to the seriousness of the situation.

Dr. Ahmed Marzouk was able, through a very precise surgery, to remove the tumor during the third month of pregnancy, despite a few millimeters separating it from the fetal head.

I left the hospital safely to start a worrying recovery period because it represented the remaining 6 months of pregnancy. I required an intensive therapeutic protocol and a follow-up call almost every day until I reached the ninth month, and I gave birth safely to my beautiful, healthy daughter.

I want to point out that this surgery is the second of its kind in Egypt, and it aimed to remove a tumor from the uterus during pregnancy. The first surgery was also performed by Dr. Ahmed Marzouk, and the tumor was the largest in the world.
